Background of the case: The case has drawn national attention not only for the homicide itself but also because Daisy Link became pregnant while in custody through an extraordinary scheme involving another inmate, despite never meeting him in person. Daisy Link’s case began as a tragic domestic dispute with her husband, Pedro Jimenez that ended in a fatal shooting. Both have them have supposedly had a toxic relationship with instances of domestic violence in their 9 years as a couple, sharing 2 kids.

On day 3, the state began winding down their case by presenting key testimonies from the chief medical examiner, who gave evidence to the gunshot wounds on Pedro Jimenez’s body. He established he was shot at the back of his heel and using his years of experiences with performing autopsy’s, he agreed with the theory that it would be likely Pedro was running away and the bullet entered the back of his heel that way.
Daisy’s full police interview was played during detective Melanie Ginoris testimony, where she gave her account of events that night. Melanie had testified she was defensive before the interview and had wondered why Melanie was treating her as if she was the person who shot Pedro. She later confessed to shooting Pedro, giving full clarity to why she had misled the officers back at the scene! Full report below!
