Letecia Stauch Trial On Sauce & Order
Recap Video Coming Soon – TBA at end of Sauce & Order season.
Current Status: Conviction Overturned – New trial TBA.
Case Summary
The trial of Letecia Stauch centers on the 2020 death of her stepson, Gannon Stauch, in Colorado. The 2023 trial of Letecia Stauch was a highly publicized legal proceeding in El Paso County, Colorado, concerning the brutal January 2020 murder of her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon Stauch. Stauch pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, with her defense arguing she suffered from dissociative identity disorder. After a five-week trial, a jury rejected the insanity defense and found her guilty on all counts, including first-degree murder, leading to a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. However, in a significant legal turn in April 2026, the Colorado Court of Appeals overturned this conviction and ordered a new trial, ruling that a juror with a close familial connection to the District Attorney’s office should have been dismissed for bias.
