The Night Of Two Versions — Devyn Michaels Trial | Day 3 Recap

Day 3 – 7th November 2025

Background of the case: The case gained national attention when Las Vegas mom had pleaded guilty and later broke down during the sentencing hearing and the plea was removed with prosecutors opting for trial. Devyn Michaels has been accused of the killing of her husband Johnathon Willette, after he was found at his mother’s home at Henderson County with his head decapitated. Both couple are understood to be in a contentious custody battle around the time of the murder which prosecutors allege is what drove her to commit the murder. Her defence team says, Devyn is not your culprit, his son Deviere, who was married to Devyn, thats your man and accused him of being behind the murder!

On day 3 of the trial, the state presented witnesses that provided accounts to what happened on the night before the incident, and the Devyn’s relationships with Deviere and Jonathon.

Insights were given about Johnathon moving houses that night from Devyn into Yoko’s property according to Yoko’s testimony.

Then, we heard of the 2nd and a bit of the 3rd interviews. Kari Skiner’s 1st and 2nd detective interviews with Devyn Michael on the 7th August 2023. Devyn went on to detail her relationship with Deviere and Johnathon; the last time she saw Johnathon alive and what that entails; and the items Johnathon supposedly gave to her.

This interview was a stark contrast to the interview Devyn had with detective Nickoleus Papacs.
