Background of the case: The case has drawn national attention not only for the homicide itself but also because Daisy Link became pregnant while in custody through an extraordinary scheme involving another inmate, despite never meeting him in person. Daisy Link’s case began as a tragic domestic dispute with her husband, Pedro Jimenez that ended in a fatal shooting. Both have them have supposedly had a toxic relationship with instances of domestic violence in their 9 years as a couple, sharing 2 kids.

On day 5, the defence rested their case with testimony from Daisy Link and Pedro Jr. Jimenez (Daisy’s son, a minor). Both testified to the domestic violence perpetrated by Pedro Jimenez before he died. But was it enough? Despite the judge deciding not to admit evidence that could have impeached Daisy’s account, the state provided a rebuttal to her claims about domestic violence detective informing her she is facing life in jail!
